CIVIC ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The archaeological section of the museum presents the earliest history of Paulilatino through artefacts from the site of Santa Cristina and the area of the Nuraghe Lugherras, witnesses to a past deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

This new museum space has been created with the aim of enhancing a heritage of great historical and cultural significance, making it accessible to the public in a clear and engaging way.

The visit unfolds through immersive galleries designed to guide visitors in the understanding of sacred places and the practices associated with the cult of water in the Nuragic world.

The visitor journey explores the significance that water held in the religious practices and daily life of the ancient communities of Sardinia.

INSIDE THE MUSEUM

The visit unfolds through four galleries. The first section introduces the main themes of the exhibition and the historical context of the local area. The following spaces explore the cult of water and its relationship with other important sacred sites across Sardinia.

On display are artefacts discovered in the area of Santa Cristina, together with a reconstruction of the sacred well and objects illustrating the construction techniques of the monument. Oil lamps and votive offerings complete the narrative, offering insight into the religious practices and everyday life of ancient communities.
